End of Summer Pig Roast and Luau  - October 1st.

Annual end of summer Pig Roast and Luau is scheduled for October 1st from 12-4pm. We'll have pulled pork, chips, drinks and sides. As always, this is a BYOAB event (bring your own adult beverage). Come on down and for a lei and one last dip in the pool. While we have volunteers lined up to smoke the meats, we are still looking for some volunteers to help prepare VEGAN and/or VEGETARIAN OPTIONS. If you enjoy cooking, understand the dietary/preparation needs of herbivores, and on occasion, can take extreme praise (or mild criticism) from complete strangers, please emailsocial@richlander.com to offer yourself as tribute; let us know your ideas* for vegan/ vegetarian options to compliment the end of summer luau and a rough idea how much $$$ you think you will need!

*Extra credit if you have to say up all night, tenderly caring for your dish, basting it every couple of hours; and are mostly exhausted by the time it's ready and have to take a nap at 11:30, conveniently leaving before most of the people arrive and you get out of having to socialize - unless you are one of those weird extraverts who really likes to be around a lot of people, in which case, 5 points from Hufflepuff!

Richland HOA Annual Meeting Oct 24th

The Richland HOA annual meeting is scheduled for the evening of October 24th.  Sign-in at 630, meeting starts at 7pm. The  annual meeting is for the entire Richland HOA membership. During this meeting, the HOA board will  present the annual budget (spoiler alert - the price of everything has gone up),  addresses various issues, and discusses upcoming major projects.

Viva la Revolución!      Vive la Révolution!
Are you tired of your voice not being heard, not having enough social events or blood drives after dark?   If so, then the Annual Meeting is your chance to to displace the despots that currently serve on the Richland HOA board.  Raise your hand and nominate yourself, or another member of your coven to run for a board seat - nominations will be accepted during the annual meeting.  Please note, for your safety, Sunset is at 6:52 pm (please plan accordingly).

RICHLAND SHARING LIBRARY

Just a reminder – we have small community library at the clubhouse. Feel free to pick up or drop off a book. If you do want to donate a book for others to enjoy, please place them on the shelves. The library is located on the pool side of the clubhouse. There is a wide variety including romance, self help, historical fiction and science fiction.
The Richland Book Club

The Richland Book Clubs meets the 4th Tuesday of every month at 7pm at the Clubhouse.  Please contact Ingrid Shell directly at ingrid.r.shell@gmail.com for more details.

Bingo is generally held the
3rd Wednesday of every month  at the Clubhouse.   Please check the FB Page, or email Social@richlander.com for more information.

Phase 2 is underway.  The trail has been cut and gravel will be placed.  Be on the lookout for this to happen in the next couple of weeks.     The current trail is accessible behind the lower tennis courts on Quinton Rd.  Just follow the concrete sidewalk until you get to the gravel trail.   The next phase of the project will be constructing a bridge over the creek  connecting the two trails. We'll soon be seeking volunteers to help later this fall, so if you are distantly related to John HenryHorace King, or Peeta Mellark - or if you just fancy yourself good with tools and/or can pick up heavy things without throwing out your back, shoulder, hip, or hamstring- let us know by emailing theboard@richlander.com.  Once we have a rough date, we'll let you know!

Did you know that Richland has 2 Pickleball Courts?  Pickleball the Basics:  Pickleball combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.  It's played on a smaller court and a slightly modified tennis net (we have 2 movable nets). It's played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes.  Richland's Court 8 is a dual Tennis/Pickleball Court (2 pickleball courts, 1 tennis court).   You can reserve these courts on ReserveMyCourt.com; if you don't have access, more information can be found on Richlander.com.   The Richland HOA is hoping to add 2 additional courts on on Court 7 as we begin to resurface the lower courts.  The board is also exploring ways to add permanent pickleball courts.  If you have any ideas, please email tennis@richlander.com.

Stay up to date with all the happenings in the Richland Community.  Download the NABR Network App for your phone, or check it out on the website.  Once you set up your account, you set your preferences to receive communications through text message alerts or opt to receive the same information via email or you can just regularly check the community feed for updates. Additionally, you are able to pay dues, reserve the clubhouse and submit ACC requests all virtually.

For our new Richland undead neighbors - a special message inspired by Benji Mahmoud.  Thanks for choosing Richland.  We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. But the Unofficial Richland Newsletter Editor had some concerns you might take offense to our "tongue in cheek" references.  Please know, these are not "specifically" targeted to you.  Long time readers will know we try to be inclusive of all homeowners, natural and supernatural and make references throughout the years - but especially more so around Halloween. Our sincere apologize if you took offense.

Thank you

July 2026 Newsletter

July 2026 Richlander Newsletter America Turns 250…Richland is Naturally Throwing a Party Hello Richland! July is upon us, and this year is not just any July. This is July 2026 , which means America is turning 250 years old . That’s right. Two hundred and fifty years of independence, fireworks, cookouts, flag-themed clothing, suspiciously competitive cornhole games, and the sacred national tradition of standing in a driveway asking, “Do we have enough ice?” And because this is Richland, we are not merely celebrating with hot dogs and fireworks. No, no. We have decided to make this a proper semiquincentennial gathering, which is apparently the official word for a 250th birthday and also what you say after stubbing your toe on the coffee table. Naturally, invitations have been extended to all of Richland’s former newsletter-adjacent visitors and supernatural residents. The vampires have been notified, though they have requested that fireworks begin well after dusk and that the hot...

June 2026 Richlander Newsletter

The Pool Is Open…Probably Warm…Possibly Blessed 🏊‍♂️🧛‍♂️🌞 Hello Richland!  Ah, almost June. You know what that means.   The school year comes skidding to a halt, backpacks are launched into closets like they owe someone money, lunchboxes are discovered in conditions best described as “federal investigation pending,” and children everywhere begin their annual transformation from students into full-time snack goblins. The buses are gone. The homework folders have vanished. The alarm clocks have been silenced. Across Richland, parents are bravely entering summer armed with sunscreen, "mommy cups", pool towels, and the haunted knowledge that someone will ask for a snack approximately every seven minutes until August. And of course, the ancient summer question has returned: “Can we go to the pool?” Yes, Richland. The pool is open! 🏊‍♀️  It has been since mid-April! Well, open and mostly usable. Definitely usable. Probably warm enough to be usable. And the...

December Newsletter

Season's Greetings, Richland!  “The Great Inflatable War of 2024" As we head into another holiday season, it’s a good time to remind everyone to properly anchor their inflatables so we don’t repeat last year’s fiasco. For our new neighbors, as you begin dragging extension cords across your yards before your spouses notice, we'll recount one of the most infamous episodes in our neighborhood’s recent history. That’s right, I’m talking about the “Great Inflatable War of 2024”—a conflict waged bravely, boldly, and somewhat unwisely by two residents whose identities we shall protect… so for the sake of the story, let’s just call them Ricky and Kermit.   Ricky, as usual, put out his 6-foot inflatable Santa. Nothing flashy. Just Santa, standing there in all his glory.  Kermit, never one to decorate, for some odd reason, responded with an 8-foot Frosty, cheerful, LED-enhanced, and clearly meant to send a message. One inflatable became two. Two became three. Ricky put up ...
