Welcome to our March HOA newsletter, where we're bringing the party with two holidays that might make you feel like you're back in college again - St. Patrick's Day and Pi Day! These two celebrations may seem worlds apart, but there's one thing they have in common: pizza and beer. That's right, pizza (or pie) for Pi Day and green beer for St. Patty's Day.
So, let's start with Pi Day on March 14th. We know that math isn't everyone's cup of tea, but who can resist a good slice of pizza? Pi Day is the perfect excuse to indulge in your favorite kind of pie, whether it's sweet or savory. Just be careful not to go overboard, or you might feel like you're back in college cramming for a calculus exam.
Then there's St. Patrick's Day on March 17th. It's a day to wear green (extra credit if you own and will wear your kilt), decorate with shamrocks, and drink green beer. If you're looking for a place to celebrate, check out Stillfire Brewing - they actually want you to "Don your kilts!" If you plan it right, you can stumble just across the street to the Great Suwanee Beer Festival, where you can wear green (no need to change out of that kilt) and pretend like it's St. Patrick's Day all over again... and well... pay the price on Sunday! Just remember to keep it safe and respectful, and watch out for any leprechauns or supernatural creatures lurking around. Happy March and cheers to pizza and beer!

Krewe of Richland Mardi Gras Ball
A big thank you to all of our fellow Richland residents who attended the Mardi Gras Ball last month! We had a blast, and we hope you did too. We wanted to give a special shoutout to Carol Frye, our volunteer of the year, who was crowned queen of the ball. Congratulations, Carol, and thanks for all you do for our community!
We especially want to thank those of you who really went all out with your fancy dress and masquerade masks - you made the night even more magical! And for those who didn't quite get the memo about the dress code, we forgive you. We promise not to judge you too harshly for showing up in your sweatpants and crocs.
If you had a good time, let us know - we're thinking about doing this again next year if there's enough interest. And if you didn't have a good time, well... we hope you at least got your fill of gumbo and jambalaya. Either way, we're glad you came out and celebrated with us. Thanks again, and see you around the neighborhood!

Richland Waves Swim Team News
- Practice will begin on May 8th after school and switch to mornings once school is out. We will have 5-6 swim meets usually on Thursday nights and the season runs through the end of June.
- Kids ages 4 through 18 as of June 1st 2023 are eligible to join.
- Kids who are currently great swimmers and kids who are not currently able to swim but have a strong desire to learn are welcome.
Richland Nature Series
March 2nd at the clubhouse as we invite expert speakers to share their knowledge about our furry, finned, feathered, slimy, and supernatural neighbors. Clearly, we're not afraid to get down and dirty with the grossest, most intriguing, and paranormal creatures on the planet - or at least in Richland!
- March 2nd @ 6:30p: Professors Mia Malloy and Jill Penn from the GGC Bird Lab will present "Backyard Birds: Who are they and What do they want?

Richland HOA Management Updates
- Obtaining quote for exclusion treatment of swim team closet – 1st quote from Active Pest $2,250 – obtaining additional quotes
- Adjusted the LED Pool light down due to lake owner complaint. Light was located on the dumpster side of the pool deck – completed, but still one more light to be adjusted.
- New cameras, 32 channel recorder - $9,450 – standing by for updated quote for additional camera to cover exit for big parking lot
- Parking lot license plate camera pole additional $6,995
- Bridge replacement in work with decorative railing $21k. Contractor to extend railing and after wood cures stain bridge
- HOA board is evaluating options to connect trail to parking lot. Crush and Run, retaining wall near guard rail estimated to be between $11k and $29k. Exploring possibility of county putting in a sidewalk.
