Welcome to the July 2025 Newsletter!
Summer is in full swing here in Richland, and we’re excited to share updates and upcoming events to help you make the most of the season!
First, a quick note: We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the non-working heater at the feature pool. We’re currently working with the vendor, who is covering the repairs under warranty. Unfortunately, the required parts are being custom-built, which is causing some delay—but we’re on it and appreciate your patience. With our recent heat wave, pool heaters have been turned off for July and August. We will resume pool heating in September as outdoor temperatures begin to cool down again.
Now on to the fun—our July 4th celebration is right around the corner, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic day of food, music, and fireworks!

Mark your calendars, Richland! We're kicking off Independence Day with an epic celebration of community, summer, and red-white-and-blue cheer.
🕛 Pool Party & Grilling Start at 12 PM
🎶 Enjoy music at the pool as we fire up the grill and get the festivities going!
🌭 Grilled Hot Dogs Served Around 1 PM
The HOA Board is sponsoring a free BBQ with hot dogs and chips for all attendees. Just bring your own drinks and join the fun—this is a BYOB event.
🍧 Cool Off with Italian Shaved Ice!
The Social Committee has arranged for a shaved ice truck to be in the parking lot. Icy treats will be available for purchase.
🎇 Fireworks at Dark
As the sun sets, gather near Quinton Road across from the lower tennis courts for the annual Richland Fireworks Show. Bring your blankets, chairs, and patriotic spirit!

The Richland Waves Swim Team...
has Had an UNDEFEATED season this summer!
As our swim team season comes to an end, we want to thank the Richland community for supporting our neighborhood swim team!
We had over 100 kids swimming with us this summer. Several of our new Bubbles swimmers learned to swim the entire length of the pool and graduated to join the competitive swim team; and many of our swimmers qualified for the Gwinnett County Swim League Championships to be held at Georgia Tech this month. GO WAVES!
We will continue to have morning practices through the first 2 weeks of July, but there are no more evening swim meets at our pool this summer.
Pickleball @ Lower Courts
Pickleball is wildly popular on college campuses, and with school out for summer, expect the courts to be even busier than usual. That means more players, more matches, and more competition for court time!
A Few Fun Pickleball Facts:
It’s a thrilling mashup of ping pong, tennis, and badminton.
It’s highly addictive—you’ve been warned! 😉. (For a small fee, the HOA will block your access without telling your partner).
But, if you've not be active in a while - you may want to prepare yourself!

📚Community Amenities
Richland Sharing LibraryJust a reminder – we have small community library at the clubhouse. Feel free to pick up or drop off a book. If you do want to donate a book for others to enjoy, please place them on the shelves. The library is located on the pool side of the clubhouse. There is a wide variety including romance, self help, historical fiction and science fiction.
The Richland Book Club
The Richland Book Clubs meets the 4th Tuesday of every month at 7pm at the Clubhouse. If you aren't sure which one that is, the Book Club usually puts out signs in front of the clubhouse leading up to the meeting! Please contact Ingrid Shell directly at ingrid.r.shell@gmail.com for more details.
Richland Fire-pit
Just a reminder, Richland has 1 community fire pit. It's located behind the tennis courts closest to the clubhouse. There are also two park style grills as well as 4 built in benches around the pit. Fire-pit and grills are first come first serve. You can reserve the pavilions on either side using reservemycourt.com. Please plan to bring your own wood, and please be sure to completely put out the fire when you are finished. There is a creek right behind the fire-pit - use as much water as you need - we'll make more!
Richland Trails
We have two inviting gravel trails in our community ready for your exploration. The first trail is accessible behind the lower tennis courts on Quinton Rd. Just follow the concrete sidewalk until you reach the gravel path. The second trail, part of Phase 2 expansion, can be accessed by walking the sidewalk to Hunt River Way - this trail follows alongside the creek opposite the current trail. Happy exploring!
Tennis and Pickleball Courts!
We have three pavilions available to reserve through reservemycourt.com. Whether you're planning a party, gathering, or event, these pavilions are perfect for any occasion. There is no cost to reserve them.
Our clubhouse is also available for rent at richlander.com. It’s an ideal location for hosting events, meetings, or celebrations.

Leasing & Compliance Issues
The HOA continues to monitor and address various leasing and compliance violations within the community. Recent issues have included unapproved leasing, unauthorized tenants, and prohibited animals such as chickens.
In each case, the HOA has taken appropriate action—ranging from issuing notices to requiring removal or compliance corrections. Some homeowners have responded and resolved the matter, while others remain under investigation.
We appreciate those who have brought concerns to our attention and remind all residents that unauthorized leasing and non-compliance with community rules will not be tolerated.
If you observe a potential violation, please report it confidentially to theboard@richlander.com so we can investigate and take the necessary steps to maintain the standards of our neighborhood.
