Neighborhood Watch - June 18 and 22

Neighborhood Watch Notice — Request for Camera Review and Information

We are reviewing a concerning sequence of events involving the lower tennis parking area, lower tennis cabana area, and nearby common-area trail/bridge area.

Available video from the early morning hours of June 22 shows a dark SUV/crossover with roof rails and a sunroof in the lower tennis parking area around approximately 12:40–12:41 a.m., with at least two individuals visible near the vehicle. There are two other vehicle which appears to be associated with it based on the footage.   One appears to be a 2024 Hyundai Palisade with plates that appear to read DFR9486, and a related sedan. The vehicle description is consistent with one of the SUV/crossover visible in one of the recordings.

We have also confirmed that what appears to be the same dark SUV/crossover with roof rails and a sunroof was present in the lower tennis parking area around approximately 1:00 a.m. on June 18. A disturbing doll/effigy-like object was later found Friday morning in the common-area/bridge area and another similar doll was found near the bridge on the morning of the 22nd. Based on the timing and the apparent vehicle match.  The Gwinnett Police Department has been notified.  While these events may be related, we are still treating the information as preliminary and are seeking corroborating footage.

Residents with exterior cameras facing which may have captured better images of these vehicles on  nearby streets, or entrances/exits are asked to review footage from the following approximate time windows:

  • June 18, around 12:45 a.m. to 2:15 a.m.
  • June 22, 12:28 a.m. to 12:44 a.m.
  • June 22, 1:37 a.m. to 1:39 a.m.
  • June 22, 1:55 a.m. to 1:56 a.m.

The available videos and still images are available via the links below for review.

PLEASE DO NOT CONFRONT ANYONE, POST NAMES PUBLICLY, OR MAKE ACCUSATIONS IN COMMENTS.  THEY WILL BE REMOVED. If you have clearer footage, recognize the vehicle, or have information that may help determine what occurred, please send it directly to the HOA Board - theboard@richlander.com.

Based on the footage reviewed so far, there appear to be at least four individuals involved and three vehicles associated with the activity:

  • A dark Hyundai Palisade, with a plate that appears to possibly read DFR9486.
  • A second dark crossover SUV, likely a dark blue Nissan Rogue, approximately 2018 or newer, with a sunroof.
  • A dark gray or charcoal sedan, possibly a Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, or similar mid-size sedan.

At least two of the individuals appear to be Black males who may be teenagers. The video quality is limited, so these descriptions should be treated as preliminary and used only to help residents review camera footage.

  1. I feel like mentioning that two were black was very unnecessary.Especially since the pictures are attached. Do you have photos of the other people too? Does any of the footage show these teenagers carrying the little rag fake voodoo doll or just them talking to each other late at night?

  2. Not everyone will watch all the videos or even look at the pictures. They may read the text as you did. It's probably some neighborhood kids and matching the description with the vehicles may help. One of the videos has the kid swinging a what appears to be a doll from a rope.

    1. There was another doll this morning at 8:50 a.m. hanging by the neck from the bridge with the same “You did this to me” message. I removed it and placed it next to the manhole on the east side of the bridge. I have photos if needed.

July 2026 Richlander Newsletter America Turns 250…Richland is Naturally Throwing a Party Hello Richland! July is upon us, and this year is not just any July. This is July 2026 , which means America is turning 250 years old . That’s right. Two hundred and fifty years of independence, fireworks, cookouts, flag-themed clothing, suspiciously competitive cornhole games, and the sacred national tradition of standing in a driveway asking, “Do we have enough ice?” And because this is Richland, we are not merely celebrating with hot dogs and fireworks. No, no. We have decided to make this a proper semiquincentennial gathering, which is apparently the official word for a 250th birthday and also what you say after stubbing your toe on the coffee table. Naturally, invitations have been extended to all of Richland’s former newsletter-adjacent visitors and supernatural residents. The vampires have been notified, though they have requested that fireworks begin well after dusk and that the hot...

The Pool Is Open…Probably Warm…Possibly Blessed 🏊‍♂️🧛‍♂️🌞 Hello Richland!  Ah, almost June. You know what that means.   The school year comes skidding to a halt, backpacks are launched into closets like they owe someone money, lunchboxes are discovered in conditions best described as “federal investigation pending,” and children everywhere begin their annual transformation from students into full-time snack goblins. The buses are gone. The homework folders have vanished. The alarm clocks have been silenced. Across Richland, parents are bravely entering summer armed with sunscreen, "mommy cups", pool towels, and the haunted knowledge that someone will ask for a snack approximately every seven minutes until August. And of course, the ancient summer question has returned: “Can we go to the pool?” Yes, Richland. The pool is open! 🏊‍♀️  It has been since mid-April! Well, open and mostly usable. Definitely usable. Probably warm enough to be usable. And the...

Season's Greetings, Richland!  “The Great Inflatable War of 2024" As we head into another holiday season, it’s a good time to remind everyone to properly anchor their inflatables so we don’t repeat last year’s fiasco. For our new neighbors, as you begin dragging extension cords across your yards before your spouses notice, we'll recount one of the most infamous episodes in our neighborhood’s recent history. That’s right, I’m talking about the “Great Inflatable War of 2024”—a conflict waged bravely, boldly, and somewhat unwisely by two residents whose identities we shall protect… so for the sake of the story, let’s just call them Ricky and Kermit.   Ricky, as usual, put out his 6-foot inflatable Santa. Nothing flashy. Just Santa, standing there in all his glory.  Kermit, never one to decorate, for some odd reason, responded with an 8-foot Frosty, cheerful, LED-enhanced, and clearly meant to send a message. One inflatable became two. Two became three. Ricky put up ...
