March/April 2025 News Letter

As we step into spring, it seems the universe decided to put on a celestial spectacle just for us. The recent Blood Moon and lunar eclipse painted the night sky in eerie reds, leaving some of us in awe—and others checking for werewolf sightings. If that wasn’t enough, last night’s severe weather had us bracing for impact, but miraculously, we seem to have escaped with only a few scattered branches and some very confused neighborhood geese.  But let’s not get too comfortable—April is upon us, and with it comes the trickiest day of the year: April 1st! Yes, neighbors, April Fool’s Day is back, and history has taught us to stay on guard. Who can forget the great “lost dog” saga of 2019 (when someone put up posters for an invisible dog named "Sir Barks-a-Lot" or the  “HOA Mandated Yard Flamingo” email of 2016 ?  No flamingos ever arrived, but a few people still put them out just in case. Be alert—because the pranksters of Richland never sleep (and neither do our local va...

August 2024 Newsletter

Greetings Richland Residents! Welcome to the August edition of the Richland HOA Newsletter. As we enter the "dog days of summer," you might wonder why it feels like we're living inside a hairdryer. Well, blame the ancient Romans, who named this sweltering period after the Dog Star, Sirius, rising alongside the sun. Back then, they believed Sirius brought the heat, and judging by our current temps, they weren't far off! With the sun's rays transforming Atlanta into a hot, muggy, mess, it feels like we're prepping for a visit from our reptilian overlords. So, let's skip the chit-chat and slither straight into the updates and events that will help you stay, if not cool, at least mildly entertained!   Electronic Voting Update and First Raffle Drawing As many of you know, we've been working hard to modernize our voting process, and we need your help! We’ve initiated a ballot to allow for electronic voting, which will make our elections quicker, cheaper, eas...

Welcome to our June newsletter, the Summer Spectacular you’ve been waiting for! With school out and summer in full swing, it's time to dive into the season with enthusiasm. The pool is open, the sun is shining, and we're gearing up for the first big pool party of the season on June 8th. But let's all remember to keep our poolside fun drama-free—no repeats of the infamous "Baby Ruth Summer." What, you don't know about the "Baby Ruth Summer"? I was just a kid and saw about it on TV, but as the old-timers tell it, it was a summer to remember.  The turf was immaculate—we had sprinklers everywhere, keeping the grass green, lush, and thick. Of course, this was well before the droughts that nearly drained Lake Lanier and well before the roving gangs of road warriors began scavenging the lands for petrol. What? Oops, sorry, wrong timeline! That's right, this is the timeline with the great gopher battle of 1980. Some of you may remember, that darn gopher ...
